ASSOCIATION OF MAR IVANIOS COLLEGE OLD STUDENTS ( AMICOS )

The Association aims at establishing and maintaining close contact and friendship with all those who leave this college after their studies. Old students are enrolled as members and are informed of the various activities, progress and achievements of the College. They are invited to an annual get together at the College. The executive Committee elected annually is responsible for the functioning of the Association.

The AMICOS has been actively involved in the development activities of the College. The Ornamental Front Gate of the College is a contribution of the AMICOS. It has made liberal contribution to the building of the stadium.

Awards to Rank holders : The AMICOS has instituted award of Gold Medals for First Rank winners and other prizes to winners of Ranks (up to 5^th Rank) of this College in University Examinations of the preceding year.

The AMICOS has also instituted the Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios Award, which is given away to an eminent person for his contribution to the society in various fields. A Committee of experts selects the award winner. Every year the award is given away on 10^th October, the death Anniversary day of the Archbishop.

AMICOS has a wing know as AMIFOM (AMICOS Friends of Music), with the objective of promoting the musical talents of both the former and present students of Mar Ivanios College.

AMICOS has Chapters in various parts of the world. The Chapters in Gulf Countries, Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi are very active.

Viswanathan (!997), Padmabhushan Dr. V. Kurian (1998), Padmabhushan K. M. Mathew (1999), Prof. S. Guptan Nair (2000) Padmavibhushan Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer (2001), Padma Bhushan Dr. M. S.
