LIBRARY AND READING ROOM 

GENERAL

  • All Students of the college are members of the Library and Reading Room. The Library will remain open on all days from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. except on Sundays and public holidays. 
  • Silence shall be strictly observed in the Library, Reading Room and its premises. 
  • Each student will be given two borrowers tickets indicating the admission number, name and class number of the student.  
  • Application for books are to be made in the prescribed form available at the library counter. They should be handed in at the counter along with the borrowers ticket, one for each volume, between 8.30 a.m. and 12.00 noon. 
  • The schedule for receipt of applications and the issue of books from the College Library will be as follows, besides free hours of the students'.  Books in the reference section will not be lent out. They may be referred inside the library hall. 

8.30a.m. to 9.30 a.m. (Time for books to be returned and applications for issue of books to be submitted )

12.30p.m. to 1.30 p.m. Issue of books to students. 

Borrowers will be held responsible for any damage caused to a book. When a book is issued to a member it is presumed that it is in good condition, unless otherwise pointed out. 

If a book is damaged or lost by a member, he/she will have to replace it or pay the cost of the book at the current rates. 

A member who fails to return a book on the due date will be fined Rs 1/- per day until the book is returned. 

If a book is overdue by one week, the Librarian will report the matter to the
Principal. 

Members are not allowed to sub-lend the books of the Library. 

All books must be returned to the Library before the close of each term, or at the time of sending certificates for University Examinations.

Books, not exceeding two, may be taken out for holidays. All such books must be returned immediately after the reopening.

Provides facilities for reading journals, periodicals , and Reference Books for more the 200 students

Computerised search and book issue

Used by more than 400 students every day
