Research Division of Department of Zoology
 

The Research Division of the Department was started in 1961 under the stewardship of late (Dr.A.P. Mathew). The Department was recognized as a research centre by the University of Kerala in 1960. Since then, a number of major and minor research projects were undertaken in the Department. The University Grants Commission has recognized the Department as a Centre for conducting research work for teachers under the Faculty Improvement Programme. At present there are four approved research guides offering guidance to research leading to Ph.D.

By the time the Department has to its credit over 175 research publications in different areas. A list of publications is appended separately. So far, 14 Ph.Ds. have been produced from the Research Division of this Department. Two more candidates will be submitting the thesis for Ph.D soon
